BROKEN FLUORESCENT BULBS--MERCURY SOURCE

untitled.JPG

As new energy-saving fluorescent lightbulbs become more standard, one danger to be aware of is that these bulbs contain mercury. If one breaks, don?€™t vacuum the debris?€”that can release toxic dust into the air. Leave the room for at least 15 minutes. Then, wearing gloves, place fragments into a plastic bag, seal it and take it to a recycling center.
